I have used Hamilton Pierce on two consecutive house renovations over the last 6 years. My current house is a 5 bedroom 4 story semi-detached that had a severe damp issue. Russel has many years of relevant experience and he was able to analyze the problem and propose several costed options. I have always found Russell very professional and honest. I have been very happy with the quality of the work. Any minor issues have always been discussed and resolved in a timely manner.
There are obvious unknowns when taking on an old house that needs significant work and Russell always kept me informed and explained/showed me issues that needed resolving. The work Russell and his team carried out for me included rendering, plastering, kitchen fitting, window fitting, bi-fold doors fitting, plumbing, flooring, structural changes (ceiling, floors, walls), tilling, damp proofing, and decorating. I would use Russell in the future and recommend him and his team
Between March and December 2015, Hamilton Pierce carried out extensive alterations to our house. The original building was a chalet style bungalow, with a shallow pitch roof which provided limited accommodation upstairs. The project involved removal of the entire roof structure and replacing with one of a steeper pitch, providing two large bedrooms, one with an adjoining dressing room, a further bathroom, a galleried landing and enlarged hallway. In addition, a large double garage and workshop was built.
Russell visited site most days to meet with us, review progress and plan the next stages, and, when his other projects permitted, spent the day working with his team. At all times he ensured that we, his clients, fully understood each step he was planning, and that his interpretation of our wishes was correct. Based on his experience he was able to offer valuable suggestions on how we could enhance the scheme with detail alterations and additions. Pablo, as Russell’s deputy, worked full time on site. He is extremely skilled in a range of building related operations, ranging from excavator driving, through plumbing and plastering, to laying timber floors.
Throughout the entire project, the team was friendly and courteous, and the works were carried out to a. High standard. At all times they ensured that while this was their job site, it was our home, and they did everything possible to minimise disruption and mess.

We were a bit anxious about the disruption that such a large job would cause and really appreciated the way you cleared everywhere up each evening so that it was safe and tidy for a toddler to run around in. In 2013/2014 Hamilton-Pierce built for us a two story extension by rebuilding the garage (providing direct access from the house) and utility room and creating two additional bedrooms above. In addition the existing interior was revamped [creating a new family bathroom and an en-suite to the master bedroom] and improved [with upgrades to the heating and hot water systems and refurbishment of the existing roof). The work was carried out over the winter 2013 / spring 2014.
Throughout every stage of build [from the initial demolition phase, ground works, exterior and interior building works to completion), and despite being undertaken during some periods of extreme weather, Hamilton-Pierce made every effort to maintain the momentum of the project with the least practicable disruption to our daily life.

Without exception we found everyone involved to be very capable, talented, professional, thoughtful, considerate, polite and hard working.
They were also extremely accommodating, at every stage discussing with us our wishes and suggesting how they might best be achieved. We believe they are a company that genuinely care, and want you to love what they build. The attention to detail has been excellent and thanks to the capability and skill of those involved the extension blends in extremely well, like it was always part of the original (1935) building.
In conclusion we are extremely pleased and happy with the final outcome and quality of workmanship.
We can unreservedly recommend Hamilton-Pierce as a building contractor that we would use again and again. In fact over the past 15 years they have been responsible for a wide variety of tasks both in our present house and previous home, which was an eight bedroom seafront hotel.
Work has ranged from building an extension in our current home, fitting new kitchens in both properties, refurbishing bathrooms and installing en-suite showers and toilets in our hotel, window replacement to most recently replacing all guttering and down pipes. No job was ever too small and on the couple of occasions when we had a problem with water leaks in our hotel Russell would respond immediatly to get us out of trouble and minimise the damage which water can cause.
